The Channel of Logic

Gate 63 (Doubt) sits in the Head Center with the hexagram name After Completion. The suspicion or doubt of Gate 63 is merely a pressure: the readiness to pay attention to and question what feels insecure until it can be understood and evaluated in terms of future security. that this doubt can be directed outward into the world, or focused inward inappropriately on your life and choices. Directing it inward creates mental anxiety.

Gate 4 (Formulization) sits in the Ajna Center with the hexagram name Youthful Folly. It applies mental awareness to questions fueled by doubt about the future and formulates logic's answers. Each answer is only a potential that must eventually be tested and substantiated by facts. a critical distinction: the answers you formulate are designed to be applied to questions that come from people around you. Rarely if ever can you formulate answers that provide solutions to your own questions about your life.

As an electromagnetic connection between two people (one carrying Gate 63, the other Gate 4), Channel 63-4 creates a rather pleasant mental link. Gate 63 wants to share its doubts. Gate 4 enjoys sharing its solutions. The sharing itself provides the satisfaction.

an important caveat: this connection works best when both parties understand that it is the sharing itself that provides the satisfaction. Gate 63 cannot expect solutions to necessarily be useful. Gate 4 cannot expect only worthwhile questions. The exchange is the value, not necessarily the practical application.

The teachings returns to this point repeatedly for Channel 63-4. Your mind is not designed to answer the doubts and questions you have about your own life and future. Keep it busy thinking about other things. Since your logical mind is for the Collective, not for personal life decisions, the solution is to use it for patterns affecting society and let your Authority handle personal decisions.

Understanding and accepting this truth can bring the comfort of letting answers come and go in your mind until the time is right for one to be brought to the surface by being asked to share it for the benefit of others.

You have an active logical mind that hones in on life with healthy skepticism. a persistent temptation: you are always tempted to immediately share both the question and the answer, whether others are interested and open to you or not. When your busy mind is unable to resolve a question and release mental pressure without meeting resistance, you can become anxious.

The teachings prescribes waiting to be asked as the antidote. Someone with definition in Channel 63-4 cannot logically accept the truth of the Human Design System, for example, without experimenting with and proving it. This same testing instinct must be applied to all patterns before the formulated answers can be trusted.
