The Channel of Synthesis

Gate 19 (Wanting) sits in the Root Center. two essential human mandates it fuels: the need for basic resources (food, shelter, access) and the need for spirit (something to believe in, hold us together). These needs set us up to interact and bond with others in specific ways. When everyone is provided for, we experience life as one healthy community. When there is want or inequality, communal support breaks down and nothing works properly.

Gate 49 (Principles) sits in the Solar Plexus Center with the hexagram name Revolution. It is the Tribal revolutionary that rejects what is not compatible with highest ideals and supports what furthers connection to each other and spirit. Through the emotional wave, Gate 49 accepts those whose presence supports the Tribe and rejects those incompatible with Tribal values.

Sensitivity to need is found on the emotional side of the Ego Circuit in the realm of belonging. it as rooted in touch, sealing the bargain with a handshake. This is not logical (cannot be democratically imposed) and not abstract (not based on experience). It is Tribal code.

You are very sensitive to your own position in the scheme of things, wanting to be needed and to give support, needing to be wanted and be supported. Your happiness depends on these dynamics. The family, however defined, is your enterprise. You are willing to do the necessary inner work and understand the importance of long courtships before committing.

Within your Tribe, three requirements: protection of resources (material security), sanctity of territory (safe boundaries), and a clear belief system (shared values and principles). The code of the Tribe expressed as "love, honor, and obey" bonds the Tribe together. Every member owes their life to every other member. In exchange, basic needs are promised to be met. Loyalty is governed by the emotional wave and is key to Tribal survival.

The channel carries a mystical thread: the need for something to believe in, connection to spirit, rituals and celebrations, traditions that unify. When dominated by the not-self, this channel is characterized by constant and inappropriate rejection of self and others.

Channel 19-49 forms a cross-species connection between mammals and humans. The teachings states this enables us to domesticate and train animals, work the land together, provide companionship, supply food for the Tribe, and perform ritual sacrifice to appease gods and gain favor. The same emotional frequency that bonds humans also allows connection with other mammals.

As a Projected channel, you need recognition for your sensitivity to need, invitation to share your gift of balancing fairness with practicality, emotional clarity by waiting through the wave before accepting or rejecting, and time to explore the depth of emotional dynamics before committing. The frequency that determines Tribal membership cannot be superimposed by force. It must arise naturally from emotional clarity over time.
