The Channel of Community

Gate 37 is the most communal gate in the BodyGraph. When your power is recognized, you can hold family and community together with your warmth, friendliness, and nurturing nature. You make emotional connections with others through touch, with an uncommon sensitivity that senses their accessibility or openness.

In the bargain between Gates 37 and 40, Gate 40 is the willing provider and Gate 37 is the distributor of its assets and skills. Gate 37 is the gate of the mouth, and food often plays a central role: planning, gathering, preparing food for family and community gatherings. Your greatest fear: getting trapped in or having to live up to traditional Tribal roles.

Gate 40 is one of three gates of aloneness (12, 33, 40). It carries a sense of being alone even in a group, the beginning of an individuation process, a need to separate from the Tribe. Gate 40 is the love of work. When involved in work that is correct for you, you derive great satisfaction from delivering what you promised to an appreciative Tribe.

The bargain requirements: renegotiated often, kept crystal clear. You're willing to work and exert ego's willpower, but access to your resources only if they keep their side. The Tribe must show appreciation and loyalty, support you emotionally, feed you, give you time alone to rest, and take care of you with resources you provide.

No good bargain can be struck spontaneously with this alignment. The emotional wave requires time for clarity. The bargain must be entered into correctly, carefully considered over time, formulated to be equally beneficial for both parties, and guaranteed by willpower behind the bond.

The way to a man's heart on this side of the Ego Circuit is through his stomach, not his wallet. Support is expressed not by things money can buy, but by what it takes to work side by side and progress communally. Investment is focused not on stocks and bonds, but on each other and on needs of the whole group.

In the ideal community, there is little evidence of hierarchy. No one feels superior or inferior. Everyone willingly contributes what they can in order to be included, to feel supported by and loyal to a group greater than themselves.

Every human being is existentially alone. Yet for practical purposes, this channel forms the bridge for individuals to live in community where all have honored place and respected function. The invitation to join community won't come through impersonal contact like a phone call, but through some form of touch, direct personal contact over a period of time, building emotional clarity through the wave.
