The Channel of Preservation

Custodianship

Overview

The Channel of Preservation connects Gate 27 (Caring) in the Sacral Center to Gate 50 (Values) in the Splenic Center. It belongs to the Tribal Defense Circuit and operates as a Generated channel. The design theme is A Design of Custodianship.

As The teachings states: "The quality and substance of all Tribal activities are enhanced through the care and nurturing of Gate 27 with its altruistic concern for others. The traditional values and laws of the Tribe that are needed to maintain order, and to enrich, guide and guard life, originate with Gate 50."

The Defense Circuit contains two channels: 59-6 (Intimacy) focused on reproduction and creation, and 27-50 (Preservation) focused on custodianship. Together they form a cradle shape in the BodyGraph. Warm emotional intimacy (59-6) creates offspring; cool Splenic awareness (27-50) realizes we must care for what we've created.

Deep Dive

The Guardian and the Caregiver

Gate 50's mystical name is the Guardian. It is the Tribal lawmaker establishing right and wrong, the source of moral conditioning for children, with a fear-driven mandate to maintain Tribal viability. Gate 50 instinctually scrutinizes which values or laws are corrupt, unjust, unnecessary, or self-serving, and identifies which need to be challenged and changed.

Gate 27 carries the power of compassion. Its energy is focused on maintaining quality of life through caring, with tremendous potential for altruism (exemplified by Mother Teresa). Together they create the many levels of custodianship needed to care for, protect, and preserve the Tribe and its creative ventures.

Enlightened Selfishness

Nurture begins with correct care of yourself first. Only the strong and healthy can nurture others. This is enlightened selfishness, not self-indulgence. If someone wants your care, they must ask for it. Only through Sacral response can you discover if your energy is available and if it is correct for you to give it.

Your aura automatically elicits trust from others. People naturally look to you for support and nurturing. You are capable of assuming significant responsibility, but you are also susceptible to taking on too much. Without Gate 50's instinct and values to set healthy boundaries, you can easily sacrifice yourself and your well-being.

Custodianship Beyond Children

Through Gate 27, children are nurtured into adulthood, educated and healed of conditioning, taught the value of communal support, and enabled to survive long enough to create the next generation. But custodianship extends beyond children.

The needs of elders must be addressed, their wisdom harvested and chronicled. Everything in the world needs nurture: preservation of community infrastructure, maintenance of Tribal structures, care for the systems that support communal life. This level of support is necessary if the Tribe and what it stands for is to endure.
