The Channel of Money

Gate 21, the Hunter/Huntress, needs to be in control. The justified and necessary use of power in overcoming persistent interference. Modern translations include police, managing director, president of a company. You are successful when you control your own material resources, where you live, what you wear, whom you work for, how you make your living. You do not like being told what to do.

Despite needing control, you are destined to serve others. In a Tribal bargain, all must benefit if you are to benefit. You must wait until offered control. Assuming power without Strategy and Authority triggers forceful resistance.

Gate 45 is the gate of dominance and ownership. The Master/Mistress, King/Queen. "I have" or "I don't have," deeply possessive. This is not a gate designed for daily work. You are a natural authority and guide. When what you have is used on behalf of those you protect, there is peace in the kingdom.

The two gates are not easily reconciled. Gate 45 wants the last word, protects, owns. Gate 21 needs control to guarantee rest for the heart. This tension between work and rest was the impetus behind the union movement and workers' rights. Balance between effort and recuperation is not optional for people with this channel.

The Channel of the Money Line works best electromagnetically, as two people. Gate 45 (the Owner) owns the factory but doesn't work there, conveys authority, must be paid their due. Gate 21 (the President) has a large active ego, runs the organization day-to-day, says: "I must benefit myself and the owner and our constituents."

Together they control and manage the organization and ensure everyone achieves financial success. This is the King who empowers the Prime Minister. We can see this evolution in simple trading between villages, complex corporations, stock markets. Materialists put money to work.

Having control and not being controlled are core issues. The secret to success is attaining a measure of independence. You are willing to work hard. You work best as your own boss. You need to follow your own natural rhythm, controlling what you do and when you do it.

Even when not in control of everything, you need to feel as though you are. This can make delegation difficult, adding to workload and stressing your heart. The physical heart and the metaphorical heart are both at stake with this channel. Overwork without recovery damages both.
