Emotional Authority

Clarity Through the Wave

Overview

About half of all people carry a defined Solar Plexus Center, and when that center is defined, it becomes the highest-ranking authority in the chart — overriding every other center below it. This means roughly 50% of humanity is designed to make decisions not by consulting gut feelings or mental analysis, but by waiting through something far less comfortable: an emotional wave.

The Solar Plexus generates a continuous chemical cycle — a wave pattern that moves between states as hope and pain, need and lack, exuberance and melancholy. The precise shape of the wave depends on which channel is active (tribal, individual, or abstract), but the operational rule is the same across all three: there is no truth in the now. A decision made at the emotional peak of excitement is just as distorted as one made at the low point of despair. Both are positions on the wave, not stable ground.

"Time is the key with this Authority; the more time the better."

What waiting actually produces is not certainty — total certainty is rare. What it produces is relative clarity: a neutral, calm-ish sense that is neither the desperate yes of the high nor the flat no of the low. This middle ground, often described as "calm waters," is where the Solar Plexus can be trusted to signal what is actually correct. Patience is the mechanical requirement, not a personality preference.

Key Points

  • Never make important decisions in the moment—wait for wave clarity
  • Your emotions move in waves: hope/pain, desire/rejection, passion/indifference
  • The truth is what remains consistent across highs and lows
  • Time is your ally—there's always time for a correct decision
  • Emotional depth is your gift, not a problem to solve

Practical Tips

  • Ask for time before any significant commitment
  • Journal your feelings about decisions across multiple days
  • Notice what you consistently return to regardless of mood
  • Share your process with others so they understand your timing
  • Trust that rushed decisions are rarely your best decisions

Not-Self Signs

  • Making decisions at the peak of excitement
  • Making decisions when emotionally depleted or frustrated
  • Being pressured into immediate answers
  • Believing you should feel emotionally neutral to decide
  • Trying to figure it out mentally instead of feeling through time

Deep Dive

The Three Emotional Waves

The Solar Plexus does not generate a single universal pattern. three distinct wave types, each tied to a different set of channels.

The tribal wave (need-based) oscillates between having enough and not having enough. The individual wave (mood-based) swings between melancholy or depression and sudden hope or exuberance. The abstract wave (experience-based) cycles through periods where life feels generally good and periods where it feels like it is falling apart.

The practical consequence is the same regardless of which wave type is present: the emotional state at any given moment is a position in a biological cycle, not a readout of what is correct. Decisions made at the high or low extremes of any of these waves tend to produce regret.

Why Spontaneous Decisions Fail

For someone with Emotional Authority, a spontaneous decision is by definition a decision made from a wave position rather than from clarity. The teachings calls this a not-self pattern — acting from the excitement of a peak ("This is the one!") or the flatness of a trough ("Nothing matters") rather than from the stable middle ground the wave eventually passes through.

The Solar Plexus is also described as a potent motor that generates energy others find attractive. This creates a compounding problem: other people often want an answer before the wave has run its course. that if an offer or situation is genuinely correct, the other party will wait. If they will not wait, that itself is useful information.

How Long to Wait

The teachings does not specify a fixed duration because the right amount of time depends on the size of the decision and the individual's wave pattern. The general framework is: sleep on small decisions, allow several days to a week for medium ones, and allow weeks or months for major life choices.

The waiting period is not passive. It can be used to gather information, observe how the emotional response shifts across multiple days, and notice whether interest remains after the initial excitement fades. The pattern across several observations is more reliable than any single moment of feeling.

What Calm Waters Actually Feels Like

People with Emotional Authority often expect clarity to feel definitive — a strong, clear signal. it differently. Calm waters is a relatively neutral state: neither excited nor depressed, a "probably correct" rather than an "absolutely yes." It can feel anticlimactic after the emotional intensity of the high.

This is the point where truth lives for this authority. The absence of the emotional charge is not a sign that nothing is there — it is the indicator that the wave has settled enough to be read accurately. Acting from this state, rather than from the peak or trough, is what as the correct use of Emotional Authority.

Interacting with Type Strategy

Emotional Authority does not replace a person's Type strategy — it works on top of it. A Generator with Emotional Authority must still wait to respond to something life presents (strategy), and then wait through the emotional wave before acting on that response (authority). A Projector with Emotional Authority must still wait for an invitation, and then wait through the wave before accepting or declining. A Manifestor with Emotional Authority waits for clarity before informing.

The sequencing matters. Strategy creates the conditions — the thing to respond to, the invitation, the impulse to act. Authority then determines whether that response, invitation, or impulse is actually correct once the wave has been honored.
