Possibility
Seeing what could be
Overview
Possibility Perspective sees endless potential in everything. Color 2 in the perspective system, it is the Independent Variable on the Personality side, derived from the Personality Nodes Color. Your mind is designed to notice what is possible, what could happen, what might emerge. Where others see fixed circumstances, you see malleable potential.
This is described view as the carrot that most of the not-self world follows. As he put it: "Possibility is where most of the not-self world ends up in terms of what they follow, the possibility that they can be better, be faster, be quicker, be richer, be happier... But then it's very good as a carrot. It's very good to see that there's possibility in anything."
When operating correctly, this perspective is genuinely valuable. You see potential that others miss entirely. You open doors in people's minds. You show options where others see dead ends.
Practical Tips

- Your vision of potential is valuable
- Do not let probability crush possibility
- Share your visions with others
Deep Dive
Left Possibility: Evidence-Based Vision
Left Possibility Perspective (Tones 1-3) sees potential through a focused, strategic lens. You identify specific options and pathways. Clear possibility categories. You need to see why something is possible before fully recognizing it.
The trajectory moves from Anti-Theist to Theist. You begin skeptical of unseen possibilities, needing evidence. As you mature through correct operation, you develop faith in possibilities you cannot prove. You can believe something is possible before evidence exists. In correct operation, others observe your ability to see possibilities they cannot see themselves.
Right Possibility: Natural Faith
Right Possibility Perspective (Tones 4-6) takes in potential comprehensively. You sense possibilities everywhere without isolating specific options. Natural faith that things are possible without needing proof.
The trajectory moves from Theist to Anti-Theist. You begin believing everything is possible, trusting potential without proof. As you mature, you develop healthy skepticism. Not everything that seems possible actually is. You learn to distinguish between genuine possibility and wishful thinking.
Distraction to Probability
When Possibility Perspective is distracted, it shifts toward Probability (Color 5). Instead of seeing open-ended potential, you become fixated on probable outcomes. Getting rigid about realistic outcomes. Dismissing possibilities as unlikely. Caught in what usually happens instead of what could happen.
The trap is closing down options based on statistics, losing your natural gift for seeing beyond the probable. Return to Strategy and Authority. Release the need to know what is probable. Open to what is possible without assessing likelihood.
The Not-Self Carrot
Ra warned that Possibility is where most of the Not-Self world ends up. The carrot of possibility drives conditioned behavior: the possibility of being richer, happier, faster, better. This makes Possibility Perspective both common in the homogenized world and genuinely powerful when operating correctly.
The distinction is between conditioned possibility (chasing improvement fantasies) and correct possibility (seeing genuine potential that others cannot see). When your Perspective operates through Strategy and Authority, you stop chasing carrots and start seeing real openings. Your ability to show others options where they see dead ends becomes a gift rather than a trap.
