Wait a Lunar Cycle
Reflector Strategy
Overview
Reflectors are 1% of humanity and the only type with all nine Centers undefined. Nothing in their BodyGraph is consistently defined. They take in and amplify the energies around them — the people in their environment, the auras in a room, the emotional field of a community. Without any fixed inner authority to anchor decisions, Reflectors have a different clock entirely: the Moon.
The Moon moves through all 64 Gates in approximately 28 to 29 days, spending roughly half a day in each gate. As it transits, it temporarily activates different parts of the Reflector's open chart. Over a full lunar cycle, the Reflector experiences a decision from every possible configuration — every perspective, every felt sense of the choice. Clarity does not come from a single moment of knowing. It comes from the accumulated pattern of how the decision has felt across the entire cycle.
For major decisions, this means waiting. Not a symbolic wait — a literal 28 to 29 days of sampling before committing. The not-self theme for Reflectors is disappointment, and it almost always points back to a decision made too quickly, before the cycle had time to speak.
Key Points
- Major decisions require a full 28+ day lunar cycle
- The Moon transiting all 64 gates gives a complete sample
- What remains consistent across the cycle is your truth
- Environment profoundly influences your clarity during the cycle
Practical Tips
- Track your experience across a lunar cycle—notice patterns
- Give major decisions 28+ days before committing
- Be very selective about who you spend time with
- Use your sensitivity as information, not identity
- When surprised and delighted, you're in the right place
Not-Self Signs
- Rushing into decisions without lunar clarity
- Staying in environments that feel wrong
- Chronic disappointment with life, people, or places
Deep Dive
Why the Moon and not a fixed authority
Every other type has something consistent in their design that serves as the decision-making anchor — a defined Sacral, a defined Solar Plexus, a defined Spleen. Reflectors have none of these reliably. What they do have is the Moon's rhythm, which moves through their chart predictably every month.
As the Moon activates Gate 14 on day five, the Reflector might feel drawn toward the decision. As it moves to Gate 27 on day twelve, the decision might feel heavy or doubtful. By day twenty-eight, the pattern across all those activations makes something clear that no single day could have shown. This is Lunar Authority — not emotion, not gut instinct, but the wisdom of a complete sampling.
Which decisions require the full wait
The lunar cycle is for major, binding decisions — job offers, relationship commitments, moving cities, significant financial choices. Anything where the cost of being wrong is high and reversing course is difficult.
Daily life does not require 28 days. What to eat, which route to take, small social plans — Reflectors can and do make these in real time, influenced by whatever the Moon is currently activating. The Strategy is specifically about the big ones that will lock in for a while.
Handling urgency
The most common pressure Reflectors face is artificial urgency — someone needs an answer by tomorrow, or the offer expires at the end of the week. If the decision is genuinely major and the Reflector does not yet have clarity, the right answer is usually: "I need about a month to decide."
Correct opportunities tend to honor correct timing. An opportunity that will not wait 28 days for a Reflector is signaling something about its own nature. True emergencies involving safety are different — but most deadlines that feel urgent are someone else's timeline imposed on a Reflector's design.
Environment as the ground
Because Reflectors take in and reflect everything around them, where they are and who they are with shapes their entire experience. A toxic environment does not just feel bad — it is bad, in a way that runs deeper than it does for people with defined centers to anchor themselves.
Reflectors thrive when they choose their physical environments carefully and maintain relationships with people whose energy is nourishing. They also benefit from having trusted people to talk decisions through with — not to take advice from, but to use as sounding boards while they hear themselves think. The lunar cycle still provides the answer. The conversation helps the Reflector stay connected to their own processing while it unfolds.
